How to get Good News Coloring Books for your Ministry/Family/Church

  1.  Choose the language you need from the page titled: Languages Available
  2. Choose the Country that you may be traveling to
  3. Find out ahead of time exactly which language you will be needing
Many countries have multiple languages.  It won’t do you any good in Kenya to have Luo if you will be ministering to Maasai.
  4. Click on the name of the language to download.  The names are hyperlinked to Adobe Acrobat PDF files.  In many newer computers it is not necessary to actually have Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to open one of the coloring book files.  But in older computers, it may be necessary to have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.  Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free, and freely distributable, software that lets you view and print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files.

Pick the size paper you need

  • 8.5 X 11” paper is standard letter size paper used in the US.
  • You can make an 8.5 X 11” book using 11X17” paper, folded over and stapled in the middle.  Many copiers will do this automatically, by feeding in the 24 pages of the coloring book, and using the booklet function on the copy machine.
  • Or, you can print out on 8.5 X 11” paper, and then have the book bound like the  samples below.
  • Print out the book that you need.  Some of the books have more than 24 pages – there are two “prayer” pages included.
  • Pick only one – that of the child praying, or that of the woman in the wheelchair praying – for your book.  These booklets are 24 pages so that you can use 6 sheets of paper, front and back, two sided.

A4 paper is used in most of the world, except for the US (and maybe Canada).
Folded in half and stapled, it makes a perfect size small book with a font size that is still readable.
Most languages list the files as A4 or 8.5X11”, or occasionally, 8.5 X 14 (legal size)
If the size is not mentioned, it most likely 8.5 X 11”.

If you are going to be using these in the US, and for children or for nursing home ministry, then the LARGE size booklets would be best.  Print out the 8.5 X 11” version of the language you need – on 8.5 X 11” paper, then have it bound with a spiral binding. Or reprint it on 11X17” paper, with a fold and staples in the center.

The Nursing Home edition should definitely be printed out this way – in the larger size.  The font is made extra large in this version, as the elderly often have trouble reading.  But they do like these.  And will read them.  And they often enjoy coloring them too!

The last copier I used, I finally figured out how to get the books to print out stapled and folded on A4 paper.  First I inserted the A4 paper in the paper tray below.  The new copier automatically detected a different size paper than normal. Then on the touch screen, I had to select “A4” for tray 2.  Then I had to select One-Sided > Two-Sided.  Then I went down to the tab marked “Finishing” and clicked it and selected the staple saddle-stitch and fold button.  Then I had to tell it how many copies to print (50), and pushed Start!  And it worked! Small-size stapled and folded booklets came tumbling out of the printer.  Amazing!

These small size are perfect for taking on mission trips as they are smaller weight for packing and carrying, and smaller bulk.  100 of them weigh only 6.25 lbs.
